Plans, directs, or coordinates marketing strategy and analysis for Miami University. Develops deep understanding of individual target segments in order to tailor marketing mix. Recognizes target unmet needs and monitors trends that indicate the need of various areas of the University. Reports to the AVP of Marketing & Brand.
Identifies emerging trends; monitors customer insights, competitive landscape as well as higher education and societal trends to ensure the university’s marketing efforts are advancing the Miami brand.
Initiates market research studies or analyze to identify gaps and opportunities in target needs.
Works with the AVP of Marketing and Brand to identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, plans and calendars, based on knowledge of University objectives.
Works closely with internal and external constituents to coordinate effective integrated marketing programs/campaigns.
Manages UCM’s analysis and assessment of plans to understand ROI and implications for future planning.
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the University policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Social Science, Business/ Marketing or other quantitative field and a minimum of 5-7 years related market research and analysis experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in market research and analytics.
Requires strong strategic and analytical skills to identify trends and interpret data
Experience in strategic consulting (commercial or in-house), research, analytical and/or product management roles that require evaluation of market opportunities, development of marketing and business strategies, and assessment of business and communications performance.
Experience developing and using advanced market research tools and techniques, including both quantitative and qualitative study design, implementation and analysis.
Experience in identifying and developing different research tools such as online and phone surveys, focus groups, etc.
