The person hired will be Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for Open Circle, an Action Project of Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College. Open Circle provides a unique, evidence-based social and emotional learning program for grades K-5 aimed at: 1) proactively developing children’s skills for recognizing and managing emotions, empathy, positive relationships and problem solving, and 2) helping schools develop a community where students feel safe, cared for and engaged in learning. OVERVIEW Conduct strategic marketing and outreach to schools and districts nationwide and internationally. These efforts are vital to Open Circle’s work in understanding the education landscape, creating awareness and engaging decision-makers in thoughtful conversations to drive program adoption and increase students’ access to high-quality social and emotional learning. RESPONSIBILITIES Outreach Collaborate with director to develop, implement, and measure annual marketing and outreach plans. Identify target schools and districts through referrals, events, and research that determines social and emotional learning initiatives or interest. Quickly identify key decision-makers at lead clients and build relationships through friendly and knowledgeable interactions (email, phone, virtual meetings) . Collaborate with program managers to guide prospective clients through online presentations and implementation planning. Prepare client quotes, agreements and contracts. Measure and report on program and product sales and forecasts. Respond to and triage requests and inquiries that come through the main phone line and main email address, responding directly or forwarding requests as needed. Marketing Coordinate and represent organization at marketing events. Develop and launch email marketing campaigns to drive program sales from new and existing clients. Design, publish, and maintain supplies of marketing materials. Manage website content/messaging, e-newsletters, and social network strategy and communications. Provide graphic design support for new/updated training materials to support brand identity. Other Refine/define work flow processes for efficiencies and best use of technology. Contribute to planning and facilitation of Open Circle staff meetings and staff professional development activities.
QUALIFICATIONS 2-4 years experience selling programming or products in education Excellent listening, communication, and relationship-building skills Strong writer with experience in a variety of writing forms Excellent at thinking on your feet, anticipating needs, and overcoming obstacles Organized, efficient, and persistent with follow-up Self-aware, reflective, and interested in ongoing social and emotional growth Ability to offer and receive constructive feedback; operate with a growth mindset Experience and affinity for creating new strategies, processes, and structures Passionate about social and emotional learning Experience with K-5 education preferred Commitment to diversity and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Proficiency or expertise in FileMaker or other similar database system software Demonstrated experience successfully implementing social media strategies and utilizing email marketing tools (Mail Chimp or Constant Contact) Experience with InDesign or Photoshop desired.
