As a critical member of the Quill leadership team, the Director of Inside Account Management (IAM) is responsible for driving multiple initiatives to achieve the company’s sales, profitability and customer retention goals. The IAM team is comprised of 130 associates who manage 40k+ customers, which represent 40% of Quill’s total sales. Successful candidates will have strong sales leadership experience, and an analytical background with proven ability to drive change while working in highly matrix organization.
Responsible for $500mm of Quill P&L
Directs managers in developing and implementing plans, objectives and target programs that drive sales, net profitability and customer retention as required at senior management level.
Develops sales and activity reports with appropriate follow up and recommendations to the sales and Quill leadership teams.
Works with Director of Acquisition and Marketing of business development to facilitate account handoff’s to ensure solid closes.
Improves the effectiveness of the inside account management process by placing more focus on team selling
Provides sales and market analysis and devise strategies for generating new business
Supports an open communication environment to assure positive employee morale and effective conflict resolution.
Drives change by focusing on organizational effectiveness, improvements and development
Manages and provides leadership including training, work assignments, and performance evaluations
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate business experience.
Proven experience in running a $500MM+ business unit.
10 years of business development/account management experience with proven ability to manage and lead teams.
Demonstrated track record of planning, directing, and supporting a team in all areas of sales activity – KPI development, lead generation, Customer acquisition/penetration, etc.
Ability to collaborate and influence outcomes in shared decision areas.
Strong financial background with a proven sales leadership ability.
Understands business intelligence processes and programs and the ability to utilize data to make strategic decisions.
Proven ability to develop customer retention programs, ie renewals.
Flexible, adaptable team player with initiative to contribute creative input and strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and creative problem-solving activities.
Ability to travel as required to other Quill locations.
Preference given to candidates with a background in the tech industry – Microsoft, HP, Dell, CDW, etc.
