The Manager of Marketing and Meetings must be a dynamic candidate with the ability to manage MHPA’s marketing and meeting responsibilities, to advance the mission and brand of MHPA, its members and meeting attendees. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Membership and Development and work closely with the Communications team.
Serve as in-house marketing resource, acting as the key liaison with communications team and external vendors to ensure that messaging and branding are consistent and aligned across all relevant internal and external digital and print materials.
Develop and implement an annual marketing strategy and make budget recommendations for MHPA marketing resources.
Direct and manage the development, design, production, and delivery of a variety of marketing materials and publications to drive interest and participation for all meetings and annual conference.
Design and execute surveys to capture and analyze stakeholder engagement and satisfactions, and determine topics for future publications, events, etc.
Continually identify and recommend new trends and technologies in marketing strategy to strengthen member, stakeholder and attendee engagement.
Identify, engage, and direct the work of vendors, service providers, and others to support the organization’s marketing goals and strategies.
Responsible for event marketing strategy to drive revenue growth in event registration numbers for all meetings and annual conference.
Oversee all meeting and annual conference duties to provide a high-profile platform for our members or prospective members.
Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure successful execution of MHPA/IMI related events and annual conference.
Schedule booking of facilities and work with internal team and vendors in a consultative manner to plan all event details including timeline, space(s), food/beverage, audio-visual services, agenda/speaker development, staff requirements, etc.
Maintain accurate data collection and records of interaction to ensure optimum outcomes.
Maintains responsibility of CRM data, including event management and registration.
Assist in the development of effective budgets, plans, strategic goals and the performance against budget and plan (for both revenue and expenses) and achievement of department goals, in collaboration with the Vice President of Membership & Development.
Participate in relevant industry trade shows/conferences and other promotional efforts to remain current on industry trends, potential growth opportunities or as requested.
Some travel required
Minimum of 5 - 8 years of successful experience in an event management/marketing role for associations, managing multiple projects/events simultaneously.
Proven track record planning all details (catering, AV, promotion, etc…) for business and social events from start to finish.
Experience in working in a goal-oriented environment with revenue targets & incentives.
Candidate must be very well organized, self-motivated and energized.
Proven ability to manage time effectively and work to set targets and deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Healthcare background preferred
