The Assistant Director of Gift Planning functional expert responsible for the planning, management and tactical execution of one or more gift planning functions, such as fiduciary services, gift agreement creation and administration, or marketing and stewardship. Serves as a primary liaison to external marketing vendors, a centralized marketing team, outside attorneys, executors and trustees of estates, frontline fundraisers and other University staff to increase number of new planned giving donors and to efficiently close new planned gifts. Leads specific projects; assists in setting vision and themes; identifies target audiences; performs high level analysis and produces sophisticated reports. The Assistant Director, Marketing and Stewardship, is responsible for the tactical execution of the marketing and stewardship function.
Administers and maintains existing strategic plans related to marketing and stewardship. including:
Recommends changes and improvements to maximize and ensure most effective and efficient use of resources.
Involves moderate-to-high level of collaboration with internal department partners and moderate level of collaboration with broader University partners to identify and integrate resources in order to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.

Prospects & Gifts
Coordinates stewardship efforts for existing planned giving donors and monitors activity of frontline fundraisers in Gift Planning to ensure that current donors are being considered for repeated gifts as appropriate.
Provides appropriate stewardship to planned giving donors which may include phone calls, correspondence and/or visits, as directed.
May interact with gift planning committee co-chairs and/or other volunteers as directed by senior staff in Gift Planning.
Assists in managing annual Rogers Society luncheon for gift planning donors, including:
Developing and distributing Save the Date cards, the event Invitation, the Program for the event, and other materials.
Working with Special Events to produce the event.
Providing information on donors attending the event; and
Managing and distributing photographs of the event to those attending.
Provides information & assists in activities associated with efforts to develop special constituency programs.
Assists with the creation of other gift planning centric event materials, including invitations, programs, and other collateral materials.
Manages all aspects of quarterly print newsletter, e-newsletter, and postcard.
Works directly with outside vendor to monitor website content.
Develops content and manages distribution of other marketing materials as directed.
Assists with identification of new donors ors to be featured in newsletters; communicates with staff about upcoming publications and/or opportunities to feature planned giving stories.
Assists in managing marketing budget.

Bachelor's degree or 2 years equivalent experience in development function.
2 years development, marketing, sales or the equivalent experience.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
High degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Familiarity with a large alumni database.
Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of staff at varying levels within the organization, including members of the senior management team.
Experience in the legal profession.
Experience in the non-profit sector, particularly higher education.
