Hours: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Position may include some evenings and weekends for special events.
Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Brand, the Marketing Manager oversees integrated, cross-channel marketing campaigns from lead generation to customer retention across target audiences. The Marketing Manager plans and optimizes circulation to elevate the Girl Scouts’ iconic brand and creates lifecycle campaigns to drive desired customer behaviors and company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
In partnership with leadership, develop strategies for creative content and circulation/distribution to various audiences (e.g. leads, existing members, volunteers, donors, and Board members). Monitor and adjust marketing strategies based on campaign results and goals, and communicate key results and trends.
Create cross-channel campaigns (e.g. email, direct mail, video, advertising, social media, and web). Continue to evaluate and optimize acquisition sources.
Develop and build lifecycle plans by customer segments (e.g. first time/new, repeat/renewed, re-activation/lapsed).
Provide thought leadership to Girl Scout colleagues and team members on marketing campaign development, improvements and execution.
Project manage integrated marketing campaigns; collaborate with management, other internal teams and outside vendors (e.g. printers, mail house, service providers) to develop and execute plans.
Creative and Messaging
Create content that engages customers, illustrates the brand’s differentiation, and elevates the brand’s positioning.
Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing messages and creative format. Optimize brand presentation and ensure clarity of messaging and calls to action.
Write, edit, and distribute messaging that promotes Girl Scout programs, fundraising initiatives, and community resources to a variety of internal and external audiences.
Manage marketing expenses and communicate/present marketing results on a regular basis, or perform ad-hoc analyses as needed by marketing and executives.
Respond to customer inquiries and interface with Customer Care to resolve marketing- and brand-related issues.
Streamline and refine marketing processes to improve speed to market; leverage CRM system, website platform, and reporting to identify needs and improve transparency.
Develop email automations and drip campaigns, using segmentation and personalization in ESP (Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
5 years of experience in direct marketing, showing progression in scope and responsibility of developing cross-channel campaigns; experience in customer relationship management (CRM) marketing a plus
Experience in email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Exact Target preferred)
Detail oriented with an analytical mindset; strong problem solving and project management skills; eager to learn with "can-do" attitude
Ability to think strategically and can translate data into actionable insights
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google platform
Some experience building websites and knowledge of coding preferred
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills
