Lead the marketing operations of the SUU Athletic Department, with a focus on fan engagement, social media operations, increasing attendance at sporting events, enhancing the game day atmosphere, and operational support. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Create and implement creative ideas to increase attendance at all home sporting events 2. Utilize official social media outlets to engage fans by delivering entertaining and informative content 3. Lead the marketing, ticket sales and fan entertainment strategies for the Southern Utah football, gymnastics, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, and volleyball programs 4. Cultivate relationships with campus and community organizations to increase local support of all SUU athletic programs 5. Oversee the marketing initiatives of all 17 sports, including: a. Implementing initiatives to increase attendance b. Managing the game day atmosphere c. Preparing the promotions schedule for home events d. Scheduling national anthem performers and in-game entertainment e. Collaborating with coaches to identify and implement grassroots marketing activities f. Designing promotional graphics for use in email marketing, digital and social media platforms g. Directing game entertainment by producing game scripts, assembling music playlists and managing marketing displays 6. Oversee the management of key marketing platforms such as rewards programs and student fan clubs 7. Oversee the management of the student internship program 8. Assist with the fulfillment of sponsorship, development, ticketing and merchandise needs to help maximize all revenue sources 9. Other duties as assigned
Education, Training and Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree required 2. Experience with graphic design 3. Experience with social media marketing 4. Experience with creating and managing game scripts 5. Experience with the planning and execution of marketing events. 6. Experience with InDesign and Photoshop software 7. Good human relation and organizational skills; desire to be creative and grow with a rapidly changing and developing athletic program. 8. Ability to work well with public, administration and students. 9. Customer service and/or marketing experience preferred. 10. Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules.
