Working Title: Assistant Professor - Marketing Communications

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls seeks an assistant professor of marketing communications to help grow its innovative undergraduate interdisciplinary major. Applicants should show evidence of successful workplace experience in digital marketing communications or related areas, as well as expertise in marketing communications theory and practice and teaching experience at the college level. This is a full-time, probationary tenure track position.
This position will focus predominantly on the instruction of established (social media marketing communications, advanced social media marketing communications) and the development of new digitally focused courses. Candidates may also instruct traditional marketing communications courses including, but not limited to:
Introductory marketing communications courses
Instruction should be approached from an application-based perspective that combines marketing communications' foundations and principles with current and historically topical events, campaigns and issues. The ideal candidate should also include global, ethical and diversity-based subject matter, when applicable, within their courses. In addition, the candidate will create new courses that fit the individual's personal interests and align with the department's vision.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Masters of business administration, Masters of digital marketing communications and social media or related degree with a concentration in digital marketing, business communication, public relations, advertising or similar focus
Two years of demonstrably strong teaching skills at the college/university level. May include courses taught as a graduate student
Three years or more of digital marketing communications experience within a business, industry, nonprofit, or government entity
Evidence that demonstrates the inclusion of global, ethical and diversity-based subject matter within courses taught
Ph.D. in marketing, business communication or similar focus
