TESOL International Association is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns across a portfolio of high-profile membership programs, products, and services. The marketing efforts will assist TESOL in advancing its strategic objectives in expanding its global presence, sharing its knowledge and expertise, amplifying its voice, and overall brand awareness and loyalty.
The position requires excellent writing skills and the ability to manage multiple demands while working collaboratively with staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong skills in workload organization, the ability to be flexible and work creatively as part of a team or individually, and attention to detail.
General duties and responsibilities
Develop the association’s general marketing strategy and manage integrated marketing plans across a wide range of channels, including content marketing, social, PR, print, email and digital
Evaluate campaign and promotional performance against benchmarks and goals to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities and implement improvements as required.
Enhance the market position and overall brand value of TESOL International Association and its products, programs, and services
Provide strategic input and support in the development of marketing plans for membership development, professional learning programs, publishing, and conference services
Collaborate with each department in managing and tracking programmatic marketing budgets
Write and edit creative, engaging promotional copy for campaign materials including emails, newsletters, press releases, brochures, postcards, print and digital advertisements, web copy, and other marketing collateral
Oversee the design and creation of print and digital promotional material
Co-lead efforts in the development and implementation of TESOL’s social media strategy and individual campaigns across all digital platforms
Manage all external media and ad buys and continually seek out new opportunities
Manage all TESOL branding including annual design of convention logo, website design and content, and strategic messaging
Monitor industry information and identify trends and opportunities for competitive positioning
Education, skills, and experience
Bachelor’s degree required, but Masters’ preferred with a marketing, communications, or business focus. Minimum work experience: 7+ years in education marketing.
Exceptional communications skills, including professional writing, editing and verbal skills for a variety of external audiences.
Strong understanding of the principles of marketing, communications and measurement
Sound project management skills and strong attention to detail
Solid understanding of marketing technologies such as, analytics, email/marketing automation, CRM/databases, social media management platforms; familiarity with content management systems and basic Web site skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with iMIS database preferred or any database management
Experience in the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator) preferred
Work experience in an international association or other non-profit organization preferred
