The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) empowers the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. We field critical research on interactive advertising, while also educating brands, agencies, and the wider business community on the importance of digital marketing. As an intern with the IAB you will have exposure to some of the most important issues facing the industry today and the thought leadership initiatives designed to solve for those issues. You will learn how our organization functions and how we manage a large amount data that allows us to serve our members. Our intern program provides weekly learning sessions developed around key topics each department is working on and an opportunity to participate in industry events hosted by the IAB. We expect you to bring a fresh approach and have input on business objectives and strategies. Networking is large part of what we do so you will be given the opportunity to meet employees throughout the organization as well as interns from other programs to exchange ideas, learning experiences and the insight you have gained into the digital economy and how it functions.
The Marketing Intern will provide support to the IAB marketing team to ensure we drive forward the organization’s efforts to position itself as the industry thought leader in digital media and marketing. This is a broad role assisting in a range of marketing activities that includes but isn’t limited to analytics, email, social media, PR, reporting, website management, and events.
The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong writing and project management skills. Experience with WordPress, Microsoft Office, HTML/CSS, Marketo (or other platforms such as Informz, Mailchimp, etc...), Google Analytics, Sprout Social (or other social media management platforms), Salesforce, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but not required.
The position begins June 10th and ends August 16th. Interns are expected to work approximately 40 hours a week and will be paid $15/hour.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Contributing in the creation of in-market communications and marketing tactics such as social media copy and graphics, web banners, SEM, email creation, etc.
Producing campaign performance reports, providing key insights and optimization recommendations that prove ROI with data.
Participating in brainstorming and critical thinking around IAB priorities such as digital video, mobile, data, professional development, and diversity.
Updating press releases, web content, and newsletters for distribution to IAB members across all channels including images, links to media coverage, member research, staff profiles, blog posts, and event information.
Building contact lists of industry professionals using resources including Redbooks and LinkedIn.
Assisting in managing and planning organization-wide email marketing and social media calendars.
Aiding other IAB marketing team members with their critical ongoing projects.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Attention to detail and self-starter
