The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Marketing Content Manager for the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA). This position is primarily responsible for writing marketing and communications content.
Working on the Marketing and Communications team in OAFA, they are tasked with writing content for print and digital projects. These projects are all designed to support office goals to recruit a brilliant and engaged class of undergraduate freshmen every year and ensure that prospective and current students understand the process of paying for college and financial aid processes. Audiences include prospective undergraduate students and parents, current graduate and undergraduate students and their parents, and school counselors.
The ideal candidate will have strong marketing and/or journalism background. They should be an excellent writer and copy editor and have a good understanding of content strategy for websites, e-mail, social media, ads, promotional presentations, and traditional print pieces. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented and a skilled storyteller.
The Marketing Content Manager will work proactively with their team and partners in OAFA and across the university to develop and manage written content, including writing, proofing, editing, and organizing content to ensure our messages are engaging and effective. They will also assist with the delivery of key messages by coordinating projects with our in-house print shop and collaborating with other team members in our ERM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The successful candidate will have exceptional writing skill and be incredibly detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects on different timelines, with a collaborative focus. Basic knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred.
Applicants should include 3-4 writing samples with their submissions, representing content from a mix of platforms. Among these samples, include: one short-form authored digital marketing piece and one long-form piece (200-500 words).

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field and at least three years of related experience writing and creating content for print and electronic publications in a large organization. Experience managing print and e-mail delivery projects. Strong organizational and time management skills. Exceptional spelling, grammar, written, and oral communication skills. Experience in a college or university setting and/or experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred. The successful candidate will be very collaborative and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects on multiple timelines.
