Towson University is accepting applications for an IT and Marketing Specialist. The position will support the IT & Marketing Coordinator and Housing & Residence Life technology needs, which includes working with and daily management of the Residential Management System (RMS), Mercury, troubleshooting, online deposit payments/process and development of social media and marketing.
The IT and Marketing Specialist will provide technical support for all HRL professional staff (over 35 staff members) and Community Center desks (18) using hardware and software in coordination with the Office of Technology Services. This includes software and hardware installation and computer Imaging. Serve as the department contact for software documentation and provide training to staff. Maintain inventory of all computers. Serve as a member of the Marketing team. Participate in marketing planning process. Develop print and digital media for HRL.
This position will provide technical support for all HRL professional staff (over 35 staff members) and Community Center desks (18). Train Community Center Assistants in the move in check in process. Stay up to date on new upgrades for Mercury and attend the annual Mercury conference. Manage the RMS guest sign in process at Community Center desks; develop and train Community Center Assistants and Abacaus security in RMS guest sign in process.
Additionally, the IT and Marketing Specialist will assist the IT & Marketing Coordinator with the HRL webpage. Provide content updates, ensure standards of the University’s Content Management System, ADA guidelines and standards are met and published in a timely manner. Provide support for Community Center Desks with Notifii Package Tracking. Provide support to all HRL staff in the event IT & Marketing Coordinator is unavailable. Provide administrative support within the main office. This includes answering phones, administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of experience, two years of which included user support, user training, and/or programming. Strong written and oral communication ability. Extreme attention to detail and a high level of organization. Ability to meet hard deadlines within the set timeframe. Marketing and social media experience with the ability to create a vision and goals which represent and uphold the core values and mission of the department. Experience with graphic design and the Adobe suite to include Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Previous work experience with external reporting systems and Residential Management experience, particularly RMS Mercury would be extremely preferred.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
