The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for a Marketing Specialist . The Marketing Specialist will support and facilitate the School's efforts to expand its reach nationally and internationally by conceptualizing, developing, and implementing strategic marketing efforts. It requires excellent written and oral communication skills and a knack for smart, energetic, engaging copywriting.
This position serves as the School's primary recruitment and admissions marketing expert and will lead implementation and management of the communications elements of the School's customer relationship management (CRM) tool, working closely with colleagues in the Office of Admissions to ensure messaging is strategic and appropriate.
The Marketing Specialist will project manage marketing initiatives across the entire institution, including supporting our extensive, multipronged marketing plan for all UMSON events; supporting UMSON departments in their efforts to enhance outreach and communications, especially units like the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of Professional Education that aim to reach broad audiences; supporting marketing aspects of grant-funded projects and initiatives; serving as lead project manager for initiatives undertaken with the UMB Office of Communications and Public Affairs, including management of billing and administration; and working with a variety of vendors, including those handling media buying, printing, creative development, photography, and videography.
With a goal of reinforcing the School's reputation and enhancing its reach, the Marketing Specialist will develop a strategy and build readership for our monthly marketing newsletter and for a national campaign aimed at influencing the U.S. News & World Report rankings. The position will ensure our presence on national nursing websites are accurate, up to date, comprehensive, and consistent. The Marketing Specialist will lead development and deployment of nearly 150 eblasts sent annually, with an eye to strategy and coordinating efforts across units.
The position will be comfortable with and bring marketing expertise to all media, including print, digital, social, photography, and videography. The Marketing Specialist will work with a variety of vendors to ensure products are high quality and delivered on time. This person will also serve as our resident expert in the UMSON and Universtiy of Maryland, Baltimore brands.
In addition, the Marketing Specialist will assist the director of communications and assistant director of events with various administrative responsibilities. The Office of Communications provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction to promote UMSON's mission of education, research, and practice through marketing, media relations, web and social media content management, publication development and management, and event coordination.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
