Founded in 1975, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) empowers Latino families with knowledge and resources needed to successfully complete a higher education, and provides scholarships and support services to as many exceptional Hispanic American students as possible. The HSF Marketing Department is responsible for the development and implementation of support materials and services related to marketing and communications across the full range of internal and external media formats and channels.
The Assistant, Marketing & Communications, supports the Marketing Department with the development of internal and external materials related to marketing and communications. This position will report to the Director, Communications
Knowledge of best practices related to researching, analyzing, and interpreting information provided, to create content, with target audience in mind (written and digital)
Knowledge of processes aimed at ensuring editorial integrity, consistency, and accuracy of all content
Up to date with industry best practices, including social media
Excellent writing skills, including logic and structure, grammar, usage, syntax, and punctuation, for emails, letters, reports, memos, presentations, ad copy, and all forms of collateral
Experience with proofreading and editing
Ability to provide editing quality assurance to ensure written text is free of errors in any and all media
Attention to detail
Problem solver, with ability to adapt to changing priorities to better serve donors and HSF’s objectives
Able to work in a high-velocity environment
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Minimum 1 year of experience in marketing, writing, and communications or public relations, with demonstrated success
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
Experience with most social media platforms
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position
