The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has a mission to advance the supplier industry and the business interests of our members. We seek to exceed member expectations by elevating our brand and position in the industry.
At a minimum, candidate resumes should provide:
5-10 years of relevant experience in marketing (including digital), communications and/or media relations
Automotive aftermarket experience preferred but not required
Volunteer experience with industry associations or professional organizations preferred
General computer, Microsoft Office and other technology competencies
4- year college degree in relevant field preferred
Act as the AASA “brand ambassador” to elevate brand and position of AASA in the industry
Create, execute and manage comprehensive media outreach program
Create and execute marcomm strategies to grow membership, council engagement, survey/study participation, event participation and sponsorships
Enhance social media strategies and execution
Integrate digital marketing tactics that meet AASA’s objectives
Manage production of annual AASA publications, i.e. annual report, Top Suppliers report, etc.
Manage production of industry analysis (market research) reports
Oversee development of dynamic PowerPoint templates
Supervise other marcomm employees
Develop strong relationships with all aftermarket media; expand media outreach to publications beyond the traditional aftermarket media; generate new opportunities for AASA senior staff, such as executive interviews, podcasts, video recordings, etc.
Develop and execute strategic marketing & communications plan for the association
Support Council Executives in their efforts to grow membership and meeting participation including regular communications with council members, help with the development of council strategic plans and manage development of promotional materials
Identify new and effective methods for communicating with members
Work with marcomm managers from other MEMA divisions on best practices, SOPs, etc.
Measure, evaluate, analyze and report on promotional tactics to continuously enhance results
Develop and manage marketing budgets for AASA and its major events
Support and advise AAPEX Operations Team on AAPEX promotional activities
Oversee production of marketing materials, event signage, etc.
Drive AASA to increased utilization of technology in all marcomm areas
Ability to work on various teams
Demonstrate willingness to work toward department, division and organizational goals
Strong background in interacting and communicating with multiple audiences at the public, private and media level.
Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Create and produce professional presentations that are attractive (appearance & style) and accurate and correct in content
Flexibility; able to deal with changes and work with multiple managers
Excellent time management abilities; able to work on and manage multiple, concurrent projects
Strong work ethic; a self-starter who effectively raises issues with management
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work effectively as a team member
Ability and desire to exceed objectives
Potential for development of further relationship and leadership qualities
Possess honesty, integrity, and high ethical standards
Proficiency in association business tools and social media platforms
Lift, bending, other physical demands – moderate
Travel – moderate domestic and occasional international travel; potentially 6-8 trips per year
AASA is the light vehicle aftermarket division of MEMA. For over 100 years, MEMA has represented one of the largest manufacturing and technology industries in North America. AASA is in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. MEMA has three locations in the U.S., four divisions, and ~ approximately 60 employees.
