The Business Development Specialist (BDS) is responsible for building and supporting relationships, coordinating and disseminating information about Christiana Care Kidney Transplant Program (KTP). This is done through a mix of outreach, marketing and business development activities.
The Business Development Specialist:
Acts as a key resource for clients (dialysis centers, nephrologist),
Is responsible for the management of all events, sponsorship opportunities, educational materials, and
Identifies new business opportunities (to add value to the KTP and Christiana Care Health System)
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Improve the relationship between CCHS KTP and its renal network partners (dialysis centers and nephrologists)
Visits and communicates with up to 38 dialysis units and 11 nephrology offices in the DE/MD/PA/NJ area (annually). Coordinates lunches to help market the transplant program
Travel is required up to 100 days per year. (70 days of outreach to dialysis units, and up to 30 days for other activities/events).
ANALYTICS / SYSTEMS SUPPORT
Champion for updates, changes or testing for our electronic medical record (OTTR) system.
Prepares reports that fosters patient-level updates between the transplant program and dialysis unit.
Reviews and analyzes referral patterns to guide outreach efforts or improve our referral relationships.
Plan and organizes up to 6 annual educational and recognition events.
Assist with developing, designing, and creating new marketing materials that reflect a common theme or brand of the Kidney Transplant Program
Maintains a strong web presence, ensuring that the Kidney Transplant Program website is reviewed and updated.
Support Administrative Director with Corporate Communications to ensure exemplary customer service.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Ideal candidate has marketing MBA or equivalent (health care delivery, etc.)
3-5 years experience in healthcare setting or transferable workplace.
Preferred candidate has knowledge of transplant, regulations and dialysis center operations.
Preferred candidate understands managed care, outpatient and physician billing and specialized documentation requirements relating to transplant coverage.
