Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics for Development &Tickets, the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing/Promotions/Game Experience is responsible for developing and executing a successful department marketing plan and game experience.
Work Performed: Develop the department marketing plan to enhance the game day atmosphere for 16 NCAA Division I sports including Football, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Volleyball. Lead department promotional activities for all university and community constituencies. Work with all constituent groups to increase participation, enthusiasm and spirit. Administer and develop opportunities for game day promotions, half-time shows and other promotional events. Coordinate the use of department publications, such as posters and programs, for promotional purposes. Manage and execute student/fan organizations such as Blue Crew and Bucky’s Brigade (Kid’s Club). Assist department efforts in corporate advertising sales. Represent the University to all Low Country businesses and cultivate relationships for game program, scoreboard, radio and signage sales. Fulfill corporate contracts and provide proof of performance as necessary. Maintain branding standards throughout the department including oversight of logos, art approvals, and communications with Learfield Licensing. Work with vendors on large scale branding initiatives including stadium graphics and large printing or rebranding projects. Work with the Big South Conference to fulfill promotional and corporate requirements. Assist with development of individual, group and corporate ticket sales strategies. Draft and initiate acknowledgements to advertisers and sponsors on behalf of the Director of Athletics and department. Oversight of Cheer program, Dance team, and Mascot. Serve as department liaison to pep band. Coordinate game day promotional releases with Sports Information. Assist in department functions such as banquets, golf tournaments, hall of fame, etc. Assist with Buc Club memberships and distribution of apparel, tickets, credentials, and other perks. Plan Buc Club donor trips for Football charter flights. Determine merchandise offerings and provide oversight of sales at appropriate athletic events (all home football games, select basketball games). Serve as department liaison to the bookstore. Hire and manage student workers (work study program). This position will be required to work evenings and weekends during home games and to travel to some away games.

Education: Bachelors degree in marketing or related field.
Experience: Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team and to develop a good rapport with game attendees and booster club members. A minimum of 3-years NCAA experience in a similar position is strongly preferred.
