Job Summary: The Marketing Manager II has a key role in advancing strategic priorities and raising the profile of The University of Alabama, in support of the University's strategic plan. This classification works within the Division of Strategic Communications to develop a clear understanding of plans, goals, and ongoing efforts for communications related to various clients.
Additional Department Summary: The Marketing Manager has a key role in advancing strategic enrollment priorities and raising the profile of The University of Alabama among recruitment audiences. This position will work within strategic communications to develop and execute the digital elements of the University’s annual marketing plan for University enrollment management initiatives. The position must be able to design, develop and manage marketing and communications to prospective and currently enrolled students utilizing the University CRM tool. Information may include communications from Admissions, Scholarships, Orientation, Testing Services, Registrar and Financial Aid. The position is responsible for the development and execution of all digital campaigns undertaken as part of recruiting efforts. The position will create and execute e-mail communications, web surveys, automated digital campaigns, and produce address files for communication efforts. Accurate measurement, reporting and analysis are critical elements of this role. In addition, the position must participate in training on and abide by all confidentiality laws and policies while accessing data that is protected by HIPPA, FERPA and other applicable privacy regulations.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Experience with a CRM or utilization of a relational database, experience creating and delivering quantitative reports, experience with digital marketing and email campaigns
Skills and Knowledge: Aptitude for learning emerging platforms, client communications, copywriting, data analysis, editing, experience executing digital marketing campaigns, experience providing art direction to designers and photographers, project management, and writing for SEO.
Preferred Qualifications: Formal instruction in marketing analytics, Google Analytics certified, Google Adwords certified, experience with Google Data Studio, experience with content management systems, experience creating reports with MS Excel, experience with Power BI, Formal instruction in Management Information Systems, Experience with ASP forms, SQL, or python. Experience with Slate an advantage.
