- Manages all education, outreach and promotion initiatives in ISSS, as well as activities and events aimed at increasing student, scholar, faculty and administratorsâ™ awareness of and participation in both the immigration and integration components of ISSS
- Oversees the design and maintenance of ISSS website and social media platforms and produces a broad range of promotional materials including newsletters, print and electronic media, written content, pamphlets and brochures, an annual report, video productions and other publicity.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes high priority events in support of campus internationalization efforts and works closely with the broader Penn Global division on such priorities.
- Maintains ISSSâ™ social media accounts, including content creation, event promotion, and social media brand management.
- Manages ISSSâ™ website, including content creation, monitoring for timeliness and accuracy, and updating as needed.
- Coordinates content for compilation and dissemination of bi-weekly e-newsletter.
- Supports Director of ISSS in the positive branding of ISSS strategic mission and positioning through different platforms (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote and Prezi presentations, video, written materials, website, social media and annual report).
- Supports Assistant Director of Integration and Community in the development of marketing and informational materials for integration initiatives and sharing through campus networks
- Supports Associate Director of Faculty and Scholar Services in the effective communication of immigration related information from ISSS to departments, scholars and employees
- Maintain and manage photo gallery and video archives.
- Promote and publicize ISSS programs and events online and in print.
- Create outreach materials for ISSS programs and events
- Ensure consistency in use of ISSS brand and image.
- Represent/promote ISSS at Penn campus events, conferences, resource fairs
- Collaborate with ISSS staff to produce ISSS-branded presentations and programmatic materials as needed.
- Track results of media outreach efforts.
- Support Director of ISSS in dissemination of press releases and coordination of public events as needed.
Qualifications: - A Bachelorâ™s Degree and three to five years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, social media management, video editing, web design and event planning strongly preferred.
- An understanding of international student needs and of international student integration, and the ability to put this knowledge into practice preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with international and culturally diverse populations.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing demands and priorities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across cultures, both individually and in group settings.
- Requires experience providing services to a diverse student/international student constituency at the postsecondary level and a solid understanding of needs of international students.
- Must be sensitive to different cultures and have a strong commitment to broadly defined diversity.
- The ability to work both independently and collaborate with a team is essential as are excellent oral and written communication skills.
- This position requires flexible work hours including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
