![]() University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: 31659 Salary: $5,325 - $10,533 monthly Position Description: UCLA Recreation is a large department within the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs with approximately 90 full-time career and contract and over 1,000 part-time employees. UCLA Recreation provides extensive access to a broad range of recreational activities and wellbeing services, and offers programming which encompasses the competitive, passive, social, cultural, and instructional aspects of recreational activity. In addition, the department manages 15 of the University's recreational and athletic facilities offering recreation, competition, and numerous multi-use options for student and university events. Working alongside the CAO and Executive Director, the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, and Membership leads the planning, coordination, and implementation of strategic communications and marketing programs to foster increased awareness, understanding and support for UCLA Recreation's mission, vision, accomplishments and needs among internal and external constituencies. The Senior Manager also ensures all messaging is congruent with Student Affairs' and Campus Life's priorities. In concert with executive leadership and the incumbent's team, the Senior Manager will develop and implement a communications and marketing plan that supports UCLA Recreation's student and member services, brand, strategic objectives, and revenue-generating priorities. The Senior Manager also oversees the departmental sales operations, ensuring that the Sales & Service team works with campus Payment Solutions & Compliance concerning all cash handling procedures. Finally, the incumbent is a part of the crisis management team and will be expected to coordinate messaging with other campus entities on service availability and facility closures. The successful candidate will supervise four full-time staff, a team that provides the full range of communication services, including but not limited to proactive communications, media relations, social media, digital media, marketing, branding, advertising, and the implementation and analysis of tactics needed to execute these strategies. Successful candidates must have the ability to be strong storytellers and produce quality communications content, including feature stories and news releases, for a variety of audiences and platforms. This role requires strong communication, strategic, and analytical skills, and an ability to cultivate relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Additionally, experience in content marketing, social media, and member services is desired.
