The French American School of New York (FASNY) seeks an energetic and creative, professional individual with proven experience in program marketing, market research, audience segmentation, brand strategy, and public relations The Director of Marketing will work collaboratively with members of the Admission and Development Office and reportsto the Head of School. Ability to work beyond and outside the typical workday, including after hours, on weekends, and during holidays in order to meet the needs of the Marketing Office and the School.
Primary objective is to create and communicate a compelling story about FASNY. This message should lead to increased Admissions applications, especially regarding the new International Program, and should support the efforts of the Development department.
Lead, plan, direct and implement strategies for all Marketing and Communications on behalf of FASNY in order to raise FASNY’s visibility, advance its brand and articulate clear messaging to both internal and external constituencies.
Ensure brand and messaging quality and consistency and establish guidelines to apply across all departments, activities and events at the school and among professional and volunteer leadership.
Coordinate all advertising and public relations.
Generate ideas for promotional events and activities and organize them efficiently.
Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the Director of Development to ensure consistent, relevant and current yet targeted messaging of FASNY across constituencies and in service of its strategic enrollment goals using print, digital, social media and web-based materials and strategies.
Develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that advance FASNY and drive increased engagement with prospective and current constituencies.
Work effectively with Division Heads, Teachers, Athletics Department, Development Department and Head of School regarding visits and Admissions events to ensure the best possible connection of prospective students and parents.
Serve as integral leader for the FASNY community and participate fully in the daily life of the school—extending beyond the responsibilities of the job description—and lead others to do so
Maintain and strengthen close relationships with feeder schools, including regular visits with Heads and Placement Counselors.
Represents FASNY at conferences, fairs, and other gatherings.
Attend recruitment events to explain and promote the International Program to students and their parents, guidance counselors and teachers.
Generate and maintain sophisticated data models and statistical information regarding the School’s International Program enrollment trends and utilize them in decision-making about enrollment strategy, resource use and planning efforts.

BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to marketing; an advance degree is preferred
7+ years’ experience of proven leadership in marketing
Deep knowledge of the principles of marketing and fluency in using social media effectively
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekends
Superior communication and public relation skills, both written and spoken
