The Director of Marketing Communication is responsible for managing marketing efforts, supervising the Marketing and Communications staff, and serving as a strong collaborator for the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA). The director will provide direction, guidance and leadership to the OAFA marketing and communication department.
This employee will effectively and efficiently advance the efforts of OAFA through sound marketing and communication strategies. This is a supervisory and leadership position with primary responsibility including, but not limited to oversight of marketing contracts with outside vendors, management of staff, resources, and technology to accomplish all efforts, direction of content, and accountability for the $1,500,000 budget. The Director of Marketing Communication reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Enrollment & Executive Director, Enrollment Outreach and will serve as interim in their absence.
Master's Degree in higher education administration, marketing, communication, journalism, advertising, or related field is preferred. Minimum five years work experience in marketing or communication with progressively responsible experience in project management and supervising employees. Significant experience in content creation with a proven track record of ROI. Demonstrated experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Employee must demonstrate marketing management experience and have a strong organizational, analytical, planning, and communication skills.
Experience working in a complex university or college environment, preferably supervisory experience at a large college or university. Proven track record of progressive management experience and team building. Ability to work with a sense of urgency compatible with departmental and university demands. Ability to develop, implement and oversee internal training procedures and train staff members. Demonstrate experience organizing and prioritizing large volumes of detailed work, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
