The Director of Marketing and Communications works directly with all members of the Field School Senior Leadership and administrative team and collaborates closely with the Director of Admissions and the Director of Advancement to promote the mission of the school as well as raise the school’s visibility, strengthen the school brand, and communicate to internal and external constituencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Vision:
Develop and implement a mission-centered marketing and communication strategy for the school, which proclaims Field’s unique story, core values, and mission.
Support the advancement team with a comprehensive communications and fundraising plan to grow the school’s culture of giving, including managing a strong donor recognition and stewardship program
Develop and manage the budget for marketing and communications initiatives and projects.
Manage crisis communication in collaboration with Head of School and senior leadership team
Ensure the consistent development and execution of the Field School’s branding, marketing, and communications plan of work
Communicate and publicize The Field School’s value proposition through printed materials, media outlets, and digital platforms.
Create, maintain, and publish content for the school’s website and social media outreach
Coordinate the sharing of school information and oversee the school’s communications, public calendar, news articles, and photo gallery.
Support departments and various school constituencies with promotional materials, advertisements, and other brand related communications.
Support and promote signature events, programs, and activities throughout the school year.

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications or a related field.
At least 5-7 years of successful and progressive work experience in marketing, brand management, and communications.
Proven success and experience with website management and publication of printed materials
Strong writing, editing, designing, and communication skills.
Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Excellent intrapersonal skills and commitment to working collaboratively.
A strong fluency in using social media and marketing best-practices
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite and Apple software. Familiarity with Blackbaud and other independent school learning management systems preferred but not required.
