YOUR POSITION WITH TNC
The Creative Director is responsible for TNC’s creative strategies, expression and presentation, consumer-facing editorial storylines, development of thematic campaign ideas & executions that support The Nature Conservancy and our strategic campaign priorities. The role oversees a creative team of 10-12 individuals who work to develop innovative creative ideas and messages to specific target audiences across multiple platforms to elevate organizational marketing goals and TNC's mission.
The Creative Director will be highly accomplished in traditional and digital storytelling across all new and emerging social and digital platforms as well as video, photography, design, infographic and production services.
The Creative Director drives the creative and storytelling vision for TNC across all platforms.
This individual will be an accomplished leader who has managed the innovative creative direction and expression of leading NGO’s, global brands and/or businesses. They must be highly accomplished in multi-platform digital storytelling, the ideation of Marketing campaigns, video content development/production, development and delivery. They will manage a team that spans creative & brand-based content for a broad variety of TNC audiences and platforms.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Global Brand Marketing and Strategy, this individual will have a proven track record developing, motivating and managing creative teams, processes and workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Champion and engage TNC stakeholders with our unified brand creative expression & guidelines.
Inspire and deliver creative thematic ideas and direction to drive strategic priority campaigns.
Manage a multifunctional creative team that includes Design, Video and Photography expertise.
Partner and collaborate with our senior global marketing leadership team which includes TNC’s revenue-driving Membership, Digital Channels, Global Communications teams as well as Brand, North America Marketing and Corporate Partnerships.
Oversee development of creative deliverables for both external-facing and internal-facing TNC audiences as strategically required.
Collaborate with executive and senior-level executives, science & conservation stakeholders in order to enhance and align our creative marketing creative execution.
Exercise leadership in strategic and tactical aspects of marketing creative, and work with executive leaders to formulate, establish, and implement workflow, operations, production and asset management.
Financial oversight of department, including setting budget and analyzing results.
Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum 10 years related work experience or an equivalent combination, including at least 5 years of senior management level experience supervising a creative & content team.
Experience leading and managing a large multi-disciplinary team and developing and fostering staff growth.
Experience cultivating and managing relationships with senior level executives, Board of Trustees, Board of Directors and/or external creative content partnerships.
Experience fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
Experience in program management, including broad financial responsibility and measuring results of strategic plans and programs.
Highly proficient in creative ideation across digital platforms and audience segments.
Proven experience and excellence in digital creative development.
Experience ideating, developing and executing marketing, campaigns, plans and programs.
Global creative management
Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating multifaceted strategic marketing or publishing plans and programs.
Excellent collaboration, communications, public speaking and presentation skills.
Extensive management experience, including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, manage performance and help with conflict resolution on a large multi-disciplinary team.
Proven ability in planning and management of budgets and delivery of annual budgets.
