The Marketing Strategist for Advancement directly reports to the vice president of marketing communications. It is essential that this individual also has a very close working relationship with the Advancement department, including Development, Alumni Relations and Parent Relations. Fifty-percent of this role is spent with MarComm and fifty percent with Advancement. The primary responsibilities of the position are to write content for Advancement, as well as develop and execute measurably successful marketing and communication strategies which support the overarching goals of both Advancement and MarComm, always reinforcing the brand of TIU. The key skills required for this position are strategic thinking, exceptional project management, budget planning, and strong writing ability.
Write and develop significant marketing content for Advancement (donors, alumni, parents, etc.), including copy for brochures, ads, sell sheets, department web content, etc. (Stories that are incorporated will be created by the content development team.)
Create, drive, and measure the effectiveness of the marketing and communication strategies to assigned constituents.
Conduct focus groups and other necessary research prior to execution to test the strategies.
Identify potential stories to share with constituents for social media, web and print content and hand-off to the content development team for creation.
Regularly attend marketing’s meetings to share updates and collaborate with fellow team members.
Regularly attend the specific department meetings for Advancement, including areas of Development, Alumni Relations and Parent Relations.
Assist Advancement with digital marketing strategies.
Collaborate regularly and often with the Directors of Internal Communication and Content Development to ensure consistency of messaging.
Complete other marketing responsibilities as needed.
Attend Advancement events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Supportive of Trinity’s mission and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.
BA required with 3-5 years leading measurably successful marketing initiatives.
Experience in marketing for fundraising purposes preferred.
