We are seeking a Sr. Manager for Segment Marketing to join our team in The Woodlands, TX.
Position Description The Senior Segment Marketing Manager develops and executes brand marketing activities that showcase McKesson's value to physician practices. You serve as a trusted Marketing advisor to the Provider Solutions business teams, helping them drive profitable growth by effectively telling the story of our purpose, our approach, what we do and the value we deliver.
You love to strategize and get stuff done. You develop the big-picture campaigns and communication plans that engage providers, and you get in the trenches to execute them. You help to create the brand narrative about McKesson's differentiated value that resonates with specialty physician practices. You capture the voice of the customer in positioning, messaging and content. And, you maximize the communication channels that help drive customer acquisition, retention, and advocacy.
You're a senior-level individual contributor who reports to the Director of the Segment Marketing team. You work without considerable direction and you anticipate change, appropriately redirecting your efforts when needed. You lead critical activities and resolve complex problems that frequently require you to use your creativity. In addition to being creative, you enjoy managing your projects and timelines to ensure on time delivery. You enjoy being part of a collaborative team with a strong sense of purpose and serving as a resource for your colleagues with less experience. You help develop yearly Marketing plans and partner closely with the Specialty Provider Marketing team to implement, maintain alignment across the team and our stakeholders, and report the impact of Segment Marketing activities.
Develop and Maintain High-Impact, Differentiated Messaging:
Serve as the "voice of specialty providers" for our multi-specialty segments and bring innovation to how our brand shows up to practices, based on your understanding of our customers, competitors and the market environment
Develop compelling, emotional messages about McKesson's holistic value proposition that stand out from the competition
Ensure McKesson teams maintain high standards for storytelling and deliver cohesive, consistent messages in promotions, events, and selling efforts
Execute Provider Solutions President's brand presentations to internal and external audiences and coach them on delivery, including developing talking points, event scripts, slide content, etc.
Work with Sr. Manager, Segment Marketing, Oncology and Portfolio Marketing team to act as the internal champion for coordinated promotion across our specialty practices, connecting the dots to tie together our various efforts across all teams and channels
Create Promotions that Showcase Our Brand Value:
Create and execute marketing activities that showcase the positive impact that McKesson has on practices to acquire new customers and deepen existing relationships:
Immersive live events -industry and McKesson-signature events
Comprehensive digital experience (e.g., web, social media, banner ads, lead capture, etc.)
Segment brand campaigns and communications, including writing emails, developing presentations, and sourcing content and support from other teams
Field enablement (e.g., pitch decks, sales collateral, Quarterly Business Reviews storyline, etc.)
Drive process and efficiency of your provider engagement efforts with strong project management:
Organize, coordinate, and track project goals, timelines, progress, issues and output - in conjunction with all relevant participants
Anticipate risks and create backup plans
Oversee any budget associated with related activities, including managing contractors
Analyze impact - including opportunities for improvement - and report to Specialty Provider Strategic Marketing and other business leadership
Partner with the other Marketing teams to share ideas, align, and execute activities - i.e., Specialty Provider Portfolio Marketing, The US Oncology Network Segment Marketing, Corporate Brand, Marketing and Communication, and other Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services Marketing teams
Share in the creation and updates of yearly marketing plans to prioritize team efforts
Build Strong Alignment with Customer-Facing Teams to Enhance Customer Experience
Become an integrated member of relevant account management and business development teams- including participating in routine calls and meeting one on one to understand their revenue/retention goals, strategic priorities and challenges, and optimize your segment marketing efforts:
Demonstrate a clear point of view with actionable advice on how Marketing can help teams achieve goals
Listen for trends and changes provider needs to ensure we have compelling voice-of-the-customer
Drive awareness of our comprehensive segment value proposition
Tell Sales about upcoming promotions, highlight results of completed campaigns, etc.
Obtain status updates on specific Sales initiatives to plan ahead
Identify new opportunities to promote our value (events, campaigns, PR, digital, etc.)
Solicit and obtain customer references and success stories
Provide insights and alternative approaches to problems teams are trying to solve
Work with Sales Training as needed on activities that convey our overall value proposition (e.g., customer QBRs, RFPs, Sales training & playbooks, internal Newsletters, etc.)
Effectively Support Marketing Team on Projects as Assigned
Execute additional marketing activities, working with Specialty Provider Marketing leadership and other stakeholders to understand project goals and their alignment with business priorities and facilitating input from field-facing teams, subject matter experts, Legal, Compliance, and others. Examples may include:
Support research activities on customer needs and experience
Assist in soliciting customer references, managing customer interviews, and developing content that serves as "proof points" of value and impact
Collaborate on enhancing customers' experience with McKesson touchpoints (e.g., onboarding, inside sales/customer service, advisory boards, etc.)
7+ years relevant experience
3+ years' experience developing business-to-business marketing plans and executing activities that achieve revenue goals (e.g., product launch go-to-market, product marketing campaigns, branding, content marketing, lead generation, etc.)
2+ years leading projects involving multiple stakeholders
Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent communicator - a strong writer, a PowerPoint wizard, and articulate speaker - who succinctly and effectively gets your point across
People-savvy collaborator with the confidence to manage stakeholders and the polish to routinely interact and influence an executive-level audience
Strong critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills
Healthcare industry experience (preferably with healthcare providers)
Experience successfully managing high-visibility projects in a complex, matrix organization
Enjoy the challenge of handling shifting priorities and meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced marketing environment while constantly striving for excellence
Attention to detail, solid organizational skills and proactive project management
Ability to act independently with sound business judgement
Ability to serve as an inclusive team member who develops themselves and others
Flexibility to take on different roles and duties as required
Sales and Marketing automation system experience (e.g., Salesforce.com, Marketo)
Vendor sourcing and management experience
Sales, account management, business development or other experience in a customer-facing role
4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience required
General office demands
