Reporting to the President & CEO, this position has director responsibility to help achieve the vision and overall business objectives, with particular focus on the development, protection and promotion of the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills’s (FHZ) brand and reputation with internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for evaluating and advocating the FHZ brand with internal colleagues, external stakeholders, and the media across all communications channels and vehicles.
Director has oversight responsibility for the strategic development, direction, implementation, and tracking of all marketing plans, ensuring comprehensive analysis, research, creative development, media buying, budget development, and vendor interface. Directs marketing team to drive growth through an optimized advertising and promotional mix to include earned media, print, outdoor, television, direct mail , website, social media, interactive marketing, and health fairs/wellness events for community outreach and benefit. Responsible for all internal and external communications while establishing the brand tone and messaging for the organization.
This position will directly oversee the marketing and communications for the 1) hospital, 2) employed physician group (FHPG), 3) centers of excellence and 4) all outpatient services.

Brand strategy to develop and promote the Florida Hospital Physician Group (FHPG) brand throughout North Tampa
Advertising strategy for the local market that aligns with overall FHZ brand and supports product line level campaigns (ER, MGTB, Cardiovascular, Ortho, Neurosciences, etc.)
Product line web strategy
Executive communications with president and other key strategic initiatives
Public relations and media relations with local media and key external stakeholders
Internal communications to engage the region's employees and physicians in improving performance to meet business objectives
Issues management to protect Florida Hospital Zephyrhills’ brand
Develop Community Benefit Report in coordination with Florida Hospital Tampa Bay Division and coordinate community board committees, primary and secondary research and development of final report submitted to IRS.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the development of the hospital integrated strategic business plan by participating in the overall planning process and overseeing the development of the marketing plan.
Ensure the effectiveness of the hospital marketing and communication efforts by organizing resources, selecting and developing capable talent and ensuring a financial return on marketing-related expenditures.
Guide the planning and implementation of changes to the organizational marketing plans to ensure continual improvement in their effectiveness.
Ensure that Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has an effective media relations program in place to receive maximum coverage in local, trade and constituency publications.
Build and maintain a strong employee communication program.
Oversee the development and execution of strategic marketing plans for hospital product lines.
Development and implementation of data-driven marketing and advertising plans to achieve FHZ’s objectives.
Develops and manages the marketing department's operating budget.
Marketing oversight for MGTB, which is a rapidly expanding primary and specialty group of physicians, highly aligned with Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and has 30 providers offering more than 80,000 visits each year to patients in North Tampa.
Support the business planning, managed care, community relations and fund raising functions of the hospital.
Support the marketing and communication needs of the various departments at FHZ.
Attends committees which include, but are not limited to, the following: Administrative Council, Strategy Council, Leadership Meeting and various Medical Staff meetings. Also participates in ad-hoc Corporate Committees.
Supervises department personnel. Makes assignments, gives direction for daily activities, conducts routine performance evaluations, adjusts wage level as appropriate within hospital approval parameters, and takes any disciplinary action as needed.
Demonstrates ability to reach decisions, take appropriate action and follow-through within scope of responsibility, as defined by job description.
Participates in budget planning, development, and oversight.
Actively participates in educational activities/self-development to enhance professional growth.
Interacts with the community, associates at every level, governance, and physicians; represents the organization in the community; serves as chief corporate spokesperson for all media-related inquiries; and provides preparation and presentation at public events, displays, and exhibits.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to build and maintain appropriate peer relationships to facilitate organizational objectives.
Knowledge of and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory standards, rules and guidelines: Joint Commission, State of Florida and related agencies.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form, including public presentations and professional correspondence.
Ability to utilize standard computer related applications.
Capable of analyzing financial, volume and market data.
As a member of the management team at FHZ complete Lean Leader training and certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or similar field.
Minimum of ten years of leadership and/or executive experience developing and leading hospital marketing programs.
Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining collaborative relationships among diverse groups, including Board members, medical staff, as well as key external stakeholders.
Previous experience with physician strategies including a history of successful collaboration with physicians and with Administrative peers.
Proven success and experience with promoting hospital based physicians.
The ability to create an environment of open communication and trust with physicians and hospital management.
The ability to work collaboratively with Senior Leadership Team at FHZ.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse constituents.
Broad-based experience in all aspects of managing an organization, including finance; program, service or business development; communications and marketing; and patient relations.
