We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating impactful communications at one of the nations leading cancer centers. The Content Manager, Physician Communications will work closely with MSK's senior leadership. This role will be responsible for writing, developing, and editing content for clinical audiences including articles, brochures, and case studies.
Write content, sometimes with tight deadlines, aimed at physician audiences including articles, newsletters, case studies, direct mail, brochures, and bios.
Develop content strategies and build content programs that ensure the right content in the right channels and platforms.
Meet regularly with stakeholders on clinical teams to identify story opportunities, ascertain key clinical differentiators, and ensure accuracy/timeliness of content.
Establish metrics to assess effectiveness of the physician content program, especially newsletter specific metrics and best practices.
Build content across touchpoints and channels including newsletters and physician-specific social media and content platforms.
Act as a subject matter expert in identifying opportunities to expand engagement with physician audiences through MSKs digital properties.
Work collaboratively across the Marketing and Communications team and the broader institution to optimize the way third-party physicians engage with MSK.
Strong writing, editing and content development skills; specifically for clinical audiences. The ability to take dense, clinical information and make it interesting.
Knowledge of a variety of content formats (e.g. multimedia, including audio, video, images and infographics) and how to leverage to engage physician audiences.
Enthusiasm for the healthcare industry, cancer care, research, education, and MSKs mission. Experience in healthcare, especially experience interfacing directly with healthcare professionals, is preferred.
Ability to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, thoughtfulness and passion.
Expertise at building formal and informal networks inside and outside the organization to further departmental and institutional goals.
Collaboration skills at gaining the support and commitment of others by engaging them around your perspective and priorities.
At least 4-6+ years experience writing and editing content for healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, or health benefit providers, preferably with a marketing orientation.
Ability to translate materials into both print and digital formats.
Editorial experience required, with a bias toward action.
Familiarity with SEO and strong copy-editing experience preferred.
Project management experience.
An inherent curiosity and eagerness to learn.
Collaborative nature, with experience working in large, matrixed organizations beneficial.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and apps.
Comfort with digital marketing and communications tools, online professional networking platforms, and B2B engagement tools.
