We are seeking a Senior Manager of Communications and Marketing who will be a leader in the Marketing, Recruitment, and Enrollment Management team, reporting to the Senior Director, and is responsible for CTY's communications and marketing strategies across channels. The Senior Manager will promote the vision and priorities of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY), while partnering closely with the Director of Recruitment, Partnerships, and Teacher Development and the Director of Enrollment Management to help the center meet its enrollment targets. The Senior Manager will oversee an integrated strategic communications and marketing program that speaks to diverse audiences and addresses all priority business goals, including online and in-person programs, teacher training, and school and district partnerships.
The Senior Manager will oversee a team of marketing and communications professionals responsible for digital content, email marketing, print-based marketing, transactional customer-facing communications, public relations, internal communications, and events. The position will create, maintain, and implement annual communications, and marketing plans. Critical audiences include current and prospective parents and students, alumni and donors, school leaders, and policy makers. The Senior Manager will engage regularly with leaders throughout the Center to proactively and collaboratively solve problems, propose innovative strategies, and faithfully steward the Center's and Johns Hopkins University's brand.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with senior management and content experts throughout CTY to develop and implement communications and marketing strategies and ensure current and consistent messaging of the Center's services, programs, policies, and priorities across platforms.
Develop timely and relevant content and communications to critical audiences (including students, parents, staff, and educational partners), including promotion of specific academic program deadlines and new and existing services.
Lead the development and maintenance of marketing, website, and communications materials for the Center.
Serve as a subject matter expert on critical infrastructure efforts as they related to communications and marketing.
Manage external communications and marketing vendors and consultants to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
Work closely with the central university marketing and communications team to leverage marketing communications best practices and participate in universitywide communication initiatives, when appropriate.
Manage media and public relations campaigns to generate awareness of the Center and manage its brand and reputation, including opinion pieces and local and national news placements.
Routinely measure effectiveness of communications and marketing efforts, reporting on qualitative and quantitative metrics.
Oversee and provide strategic guidance for sponsorship, conference, and paid media placements.
Manage the communications budget and work collaboratively with the senior director and Finance staff to develop annually.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
Bachelor's Degree required in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or related field required. Master's preferred in relevant field strongly preferred. Advanced degree may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Five (5) years related experience required. Ten (10) years of experience in progressively responsible positions managing communications and marketing staff and projects strongly preferred.
Three years supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency in marketing CRM and other technology solutions.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to support multiple projects under potentially conflicting deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, motivate others, and manage interpersonal situations.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to work competently with Microsoft Office 365 and other desktop applications.

Position oversees four direct reports and five indirect reports, including two casual staff members.
Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse pad and other office machinery
The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly via telephone and face to face with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these settings
Position also requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment; bending, kneeling or standing during events and presentations may be required.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, up to two days remote per week (M & F). Flexible Scheduling is also available.
