We're looking for a driven, enthusiastic marketing leader to be part of the team that's transforming the fight against cancer and improving the lives of more patients. Backed by the strength of a Fortune 7 company, Ontada is an oncology data science and technology business. We specialize in real-world data and evidence generation that accelerates life science research, clinical technologies that support community providers with precise care, and provider engagement channels that enable education and insights.
Reporting to the Vice President of Ontada Marketing, this role is the chief storyteller for our business and leads the team responsible for creating engaging content and campaigns to generate awareness and drive demand. As the brand evangelist, this role will also oversee the Ontada brand to ensure consistency and effectiveness across key segments. This individual will coordinate our story across channels, and ensure we are leveraging best practices and a data-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities (List the top five to seven essential responsibilities in priority order.)
Increase awareness by amplifying brand and product messaging in marketing channels and through sales enablement tools
Collaborate with Strategic Marketing, Market/Customer Insights and Product teams to drive a long-term strategy to raise awareness and differentiation of our business and products based on competition, market dynamics and emerging technologies
Translate strategy into actionable and compelling marketing communications, programs and campaigns that raise the profile of our business
Develop sales enablement tools (slides, collateral, internal talking points) to support our Sales team in the field, and ensure we are keeping our content fresh
Create content across owned, paid, and shared/earned channels that captures our target audiences and communicates our unique value proposition
Manage our owned marketing channel strategy and operations (website, blog, organic social media, email), while ensuring consistency and effectiveness
Work with the enterprise Advertising Operations team to build, track and optimize paid advertising campaigns (SEM, social, display)
Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications to develop a unified earned media strategy and coordinate deliverables
Leverage data and a "test and learn" mentality to assess the effectiveness of marketing tactics and adjust as necessary
Champion tracking, measurement and reporting, with a focus on demonstrating marketing's contribution to the business
Work with HR to support employer brand efforts and content
Support internal communications efforts for announcements, Ontada Town Halls and leadership presentations
Create meaningful opportunities to engage, build credibility and capture leads through events and thought leadership
Work with Strategic Marketing to build marketing plans for events and speaking opportunities, and collaborate with the enterprise Events teams to execute
Work with Strategic Marketing and Corporate Communications team to develop and execute on a thought leadership strategy and platform
Brand Strategy & Management
Support business strategy with key brand decisions and drive consistency by continuously improving brand resources
Manage the Ontada brand, including visual and verbal guidelines, architecture, nomenclature/product naming and templates/tools
Lead the in-house development of all creative materials
Collaborate closely with strategy and product teams to refresh messaging as needed
Work cross-functionally to ensure our brand is represented in the McKesson enterprise oncology story
Oversee brand training and education for team members and agencies
Inspire and empower a small, talented team of marketing strategists and creatives
Set a vision and priorities for the marketing team, and adjust in response to a dynamic and evolving market
Provide day-to-day people management for the team
Attract, retain and nurture top marketing talent
Champion diversity, inclusion and equality
10+ years of marketing, communications, agency or strategy experience required
Experience leading marketing campaigns and communications required
B2B and healthcare experience (oncology or life sciences) preferred
5+ years managerial experience preferred
Startup experience a plus

An eye for excellent visual design - this role is not a graphic designer, but should know what good digital and print marketing assets look like
Excellent cross-functional team, project and organizational leadership skills with the proven ability to interact with and influence across all levels and functions
4-year degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
MBA or other relevant Master's program preferred
