Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association Headquartered in Northern Virginia, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), is an international trade association of more than 1,400 members from 46 nations. Our members are involved in specialized transportation, machinery moving and erecting, industrial maintenance, millwrighting, and crane and rigging operations, manufacturing, concrete pumping, and rental. Manager, Marketing & Communications The manager of marketing and communications at SC&RA is an exciting role for someone who wishes to further their career in the association communications field. Reporting to the director of marketing and communications, this position will play a key role in shaping the voice and brand of SC&RA. The manager will interact daily with the meetings, membership, and advocacy teams to manage distribution of SC&RA communication activities and assist with sponsorship fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties • Nurture SC&RA’s presence through social media vehicles, e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. • Provide marketing/design support and vendor management for SC&RA promotional, educational, and training materials including brochures, post cards, event signage, for membership, meetings, products, etc. • Maintain organized photo files and determine appropriate images for magazine articles and promotional pieces. • Coordinate and manage distribution of SC&RA newsletter and press releases via email client, Higher Logic. • Manage vendors for multi-media videos and develop PowerPoint presentations for SC&RA Annual Conference and other meetings as needed. Presentations may include photos, logos, text, graphics, and sound and may be developed using a variety of software programs and packages. • Assist staff liaison to SC&RA Communications Advisory Committee with agendas, meetings, and minutes. • Prepare copy, images, etc. for SC&RA meeting brochures/handbooks working directly with designer and SC&RA staff to coordinate contents. • Coordinate with Meetings department to ensure content for each meeting is updated on the Association app. • Assist in updating content for the Association’s website and ensure that content is regularly updated. • Coordinate with the CEO on sponsorship program fulfillment, including communicating benefits and obtaining correct sponsor logos for promotion. • Manage vendors to produce videos. • Prepare the overall marketing/communication calendar yearly. • Travel to at least 3 off-site meetings per year: Crane & Rigging Workshop, Specialized Transportation Symposium, and Annual Conference. Assist staff with all necessary on-site duties while still maintaining job responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree • Strong writing and editing skills • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite • Must be detail oriented • Vendor management experience • Budget formulation and execution experience • Commitment to teamwork and a positive, can-do attitude • Familiarity with MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel, Hootsuite. Clowder, HigherLogic/Informz a plus.
