Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends required
Job Summary: The Marketing Manager I is responsible for overseeing the marketing, public relations, event planning, fundraising, advertising and/or circulation responsibilities of a publication or program.
Additional Department Summary: The position is responsible for overseeing social media, public relations, graphic design, advertising and/or circulation responsibilities of a publication or program for departments within the Division of Student Life. Responsible for completing required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR Master's degree.
Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design and graphic design software such as Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe InDesign. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Excellent project management and time management skills. Excellent ability to write for diverse audiences and communication channels. Demonstrated ability to develop proactive communication plans within deadlines. Demonstrates initiative and creativity in promotional and design efforts. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines. Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards for print and electronic medias. Demonstrated commitment to expand multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through: demonstrating self awareness; understanding and valuing others; demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities; interacting effectively with a diversity of people; fostering equity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supervising and managing interns and student workers. Experience promoting hand managing communications for departments and programming related to Student Life. Experience in developing/managing communication campaigns. Experience in print and electronic media. Experience in web design, specifically the WordPress website platform.
