The Marketing & Communication Specialist assists in the execution of the strategic marketing and communication plans that include all company platforms of written and digital publications, web, and social media under the direction of the Manager of Marketing and Communications. This role is responsible for assisting in the developmentand distribution of marketing and communication materials that include but are not limited to brochures, posters, publications, videos, social campaigns, and other promotional items used to educate cooperative members and driveleads for the fiber subsidiary.

Collaborates with other representatives within the member relations department to fully understand product and communication needs.
Gathers the materials necessary to understand the project and competition in the area such as literature or previous marketing campaigns; analyzes these materials to determine the most effective communications technique and customer lifecycle.
Generates content for marketing and communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia.
Presents design ideas and recommendations to Manager of Marketing and Communications and Department VP.
Creates and coordinates multimedia packages.
Attends trade shows, community fairs, and networking events to drive overall company awareness and leads for fiber subsidiary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field required.
At least 2 years of relative work experience which may include public relations, coordinating social media, and developing/implementing marketing and communications campaigns.
Technical and journalistic writing skills are required.
Experience providing content and assisting with production of various communication pieces as part of data-driven campaigns.
Strong oral and written communications skills are required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with the design and production of print materials.
Photography, videography, and video editing skills are preferred.
Ability to develop and execute presentations that represent WRVEC and its subsidiary to varying audiences.
Must have and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including some overnight travel.
Inside office environment with regular posted office hours and occasional overtime, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
Physical Effort and Dexterity:
Frequent physical activity to include sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying materials under fifteen pounds.
Machines, Tools, an Equipment:
Capable of operating a personal computer, calculator, printer, copy machine, telephone, shredder, and any other required office equipment.
Visual Acuity, Hearing and Speaking:
Comfortable speaking on the telephone and via online conference tools. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately for work and safety compliance.
Majority of work will be performed indoors. Normal office safety precautions and practices are required. Position may require travel to acquire supplies from time to time. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday.
