Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Director for Marketing & Communications to lead the College’s marketing campaign strategy, oversee creative message/graphic development and organization to achieve objectives supporting the overall mission of the College. This position enhances the stature and visibility of the College among its many audiences, including current and prospective students, alumni, donors, and current and prospective faculty. The Director is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive marketing plans for the College and will work closely with the administrators of each division to ensure that all aspects of brand identity are executed consistently and clearly. The Director for Marketing & Communications also coordinates efforts with the Assistant Vice President for Communications & External Relations for the greatest efficiency, impact and strengthening of College communications. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the oversight of the College’s Graphic Designer Supervisor, communications and videography personnel. The Director for Marketing & Communications reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Communications & External Relations.

Plan, implement and coordinate CBC's marketing and advertising programs to reflect the goals and mission of the College;
Lead the creation and execution of a cohesive and impactful brand strategy, built on a culture of data-driven, high-impact, results-oriented marketing practices to meet enrollment, retention and student engagement goals;
Create a culture of collaboration with the departments that marketing supports;
Develop and maintain relationships with media representatives;
Establish metrics and outcomes that align marketing activities with outcomes that support College goals;
Identify, interpret and capitalize on marketing trends to assist senior leadership and staff in recognizing internal and external opportunities and solutions;
Work in close alignment with the Assistant Vice President for Communications & External Relations to execute an integrated internal and external strategic communications plan to advance the College brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its initiatives across stakeholder audiences;
Collaborate with the faculty, students and deans to promote their activities and to ensure consistency with the College's communication strategies;
Assist the Assistant Vice President for Communications & External Relations in composing correspondence, media messages, articles, press releases, announcements, presentations, various College publications, other oral/written communications and related duties including coverage of campus events;
Oversee the College’s Graphic Designer Supervisor, Communications and Videography personnel;
Grow in professional expertise; participate in professional organizations, including regular engagement with the State Board of Community and Technical Colleges and its Public Information Commission, attend pertinent local, regional or national continuing education meetings; read and interpret supportive professional publications;
Oversee and execute the College’s social media strategy, including regular monitoring of all social media channels;
Lead or assist in the planning and execution of College events, as assigned, including but not limited to Commencement and the MLK Spirit Award ceremony;
Maintain an effective Branding Guide to support the branding and marketing efforts happening campus-wide, while promoting compliance to College brand standards;
Plan, develop and maintain departmental budgets for expenses related to public information, marketing, and the College’s commencement ceremony;

Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
Three (3) years of experience in marketing, brand management and/or the use of marketing analytics to evaluate effectiveness of marketing strategies and tactics;
Extensive experience in marketing, public relations, special events, graphic design, photography, printing, and social media with expertise in planning, writing, editing, designing, production methods and media relations; and
Portfolio of your work including, at minimum, one (1) example of effective marketing-based writing and two (2) examples of successful marketing campaigns.
Supervisory experience in a marketing or communications-related environment; and
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment. CBC also provides one-year certificates and basic skills for those pursuing a GED or high school diploma. CBC serves approximately 7,000-8,000 students each quarter.Columbia Basin College now offers bachelor degrees in Nursing, Project Management, Applied Management, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Dental Hygiene.
