American Chemical Society is looking for an enthusiastic and high-performing leader to support the growth of the ACS Sales & Marketing department. The Senior Strategist will be a thought leader in strategic conversations at the executive level, will be responsible for collaborating with senior executives and business partners on the development and execution of strategic initiatives and business operations improvements, and will drive key strategic business development opportunities. You will work with executives on the team to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals. The role comes with a competitive base salary and bonus potential.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
You will be the eyes and ears across the marketing organization and be a driving force to get things done.
You will provide thought leadership and strategic thinking while driving the process to refine the strategy, KPIs, budgets and execution plans for the team, as well as how we will measure success against it and report on progress.
You will act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Director & Senior Team and provide honest and thoughtful guidance and advice on products, campaigns, communications, people, and team pulse.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with other leadership and across the enterprise to support understanding of strategy and prioritization.
You will oversee multiple strategic business initiatives and operations platforms from ideation to implementation.
You will identify and provide recommendations on improvements across the marketing organization.
You will plan, coordinate and lead meetings and staff trainings and workshops.
Desired Skills and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
10+ years of working as a people or program manager.
Experience leading or influencing high performing marketing teams.
Experience working in a busy environment, demonstrating the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
A Self-starter with the ability to work well within a team to achieve business goals.
Experience with navigating privacy and compliance conversations with business and technical stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Familiarity and knowledge of the media and ad tech ecosystems
This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, three days per week. ACS employees are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday with the third in-office day scheduled in consultation with the manager. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from a location of their choice. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement.
